Video over IP - With Ethernet networks emerging in industrial as well as office environments and a huge installed base of Cat5e cabling, there has never been a more compelling argument for video over IP solutions. Video servers take a standard co-ax input from a PAL or NTSC camera and use compression techniques to create an IP video stream that can be sent to one or many receiving devices, typically a PC. When a PC is not available, a Video Decoder can be used to convert the IP stream back to a standard analogue signal and output to a DVR or monitor. Encoder / decoder pairs can provide a total wireless video solution when used across a wireless link.
